It was my first time visiting this Communism-Style cafe. The place was crowded with youngsters which made me feel old and quite big for its seats. There were some very nice decorative setups that reminiscence the poor and harsh time of life in the Northern Vietnam during wartime. All these demonstrated a different kind of retrospective-style in comparison with the ‘French-colonial’ or the ‘Saigon 60s-70s’ those have been popular among Saigoneses. Cong cafe has opened in Hanoi, Danang and now two shops in Saigon. This one on the second floor of an old building at the corner of Dong Khoi St. and Ly Tu Trong St. has a very Saigonese balcony-view and that is what I like most about it.
